Diane Fontaine
For more than 20 years, the Artist Fontaine has been exploring mixed media in a search for spontaneous expression at the limit of figuration. Bachelor of Arts from UQO in 1991, after a certificate in Graphic Art at Studio Salette in Montreal in 1987, she was an illustrator for several years and became an Art teacher in 2004. Since then, she has focused on painting and specializes in mixed media.
In 2009, she successfully opened her studio Galerie. In 2010, she won numerous awards, including a special mention from the SNBA at the exhibition at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris. In 2011, she founded the Festival Gatineau en Arts. In 2013 she appeared in the prestigious art book “International Contemporary Masters”, as well as several other publications and exhibited for the 1st time in New York. In 2014, she won her 1st artistic tribute prize and the same year founded TRACES, a highly coveted visual arts symposium. She also won the Bronze Medal in the portrait category at the Cercle des peintres et sculpteurs du Québec and was named Personality of the year at Gatineau Art and Culture (Buckingham sector) on the international level.
In 2016, she was awarded the artistic tribute prize at the TRACES visual arts symposium in the Outaouais and in 2017, she made the ArtExpo NY where she won the “spotlight artist” award. In 2019, she won 2 jury prizes for thematic works.
Represented in several galleries, her works, increasingly coveted, are found in multiple countries of the world. In 2020 she explores other mediums such as monotypes and Recycl’art and evolves her art with new series bringing together the human subject and nature.
