Isabelle Filion
Through an expressive pictorial technique, Isabelle Filion’s works offer a unique and contemporary look at the living model. Chiaroscuro effects highlight the subject that comes to life through a multitude of details and textures. While the model testifies to an introspection that calls for contemplation, gestures bring a tangible and dynamic presence to the work. This creates a subtle balance combining figuration and abstraction. Thus, the realistic details of the portrait rub shoulders with frank and spontaneous gestures, rich in textures and transparencies. Isabelle Filion loves vibrant colors that enrich and illuminate her compositions.
